A healthy body and a healthy mind is what we’re all working towards these days, and while it can sometimes feel like a struggle to achieve this state, we’re lucky that we live in the age of handy apps that are resources of motivation, information and more! Here are some apps to get you on the track to the perfect body.

Daily Water (iOS) Water Drink Reminder (android)

Start with the basics. We live in a hot country, and it can be terribly humid, sucking the moisture out of our bodies while we forget to replenish what we lose. Most of us think we drink enough water already! But the truth is, the air conditioning in our offices and the sun outside our window can both render us dehydrated. This app will help you remember to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day.

Sleep Cycle alarm clock (iOS and android)

This app tracks you sleeping habits and wakes you up at the best time possible. You can use it to check your sleeping habits, and also to program a reminder to tell you when to go to bed to get your 6-8 hours of sleep per night. It’s simple but effective, and can really help you to sleep better, as that time for the regeneration of your body is important.

Headspace: Guided Meditation and Mindfulness (iOS and android)

Headspace leads you through guided meditation sessions that can be as short or as long as you like. Soothing and calming, the meditation helps with anxiety and stress and can help focus your mind on what is truly important.

Lumosity – Brain Training (iOS and android)

Lumosity challenges your brain with bite sized trials that will help you improve your memory, concentration and intelligence. Because they’re worked in as games the app is fun while you also get to train your brain.

Nike+ Training Club (iOS and android)

This fitness app has dozens of work outs that can be tailored specifically to your needs. There is even the option to build a plan that will centre on your needs – your weight, height and preferences as to whether you want to lose weight or gain it. The plan also takes into account your schedule, and you can link your workouts to your own music.
