Here are 5 needed steps to take so you can embrace the new you in 2018
1. Get Up and Get Moving
There is nothing like the fresh motivation and promise of a new year to get into that workout routine you have always planned. Not only does exercise on a regular basis keep you healthy and fit – it releases endorphins that make you feel good too. Start slow – a couple of times a week and stick to a regular routine with no compromise. We recommend early mornings as there are no distractions at that time, and you will be amazed at the extra time in your day! Make sure you sleep regularly as part of this change.
2. Regular Detox:
While you must include a regular workout – this also means adjusting your eating habits to get maximum impact. There are two steps to take here – one is daily routine that will flush your toxins such as increased water intake, more fruits and veggies or a cup of green tea each night. The second is a detox where you cut all starch, sugar and even meat from your diet for a week – once every 2-3 months to do a through flush. The difference will amaze you!
3. Wardrobe Mania and Spring Clean:
The basic principle of fengshui is that you must regularly clean and give away things you don’t use to allow for new better energies to enter your life. Start with your wardrobe and follow the basic 3-month principle – have your worn or used this in the last 3 months? If the answer is no, then give it away! Now apply this to the rest of your life and watch the bad energy go out and the good vibes flow in!
4. Improve Your Mind:
Take this year as a chance to learn a new skill, take an online course or read more than you have before. Your mind is a muscle too and your must work it out to keep it at its optimal best. Start with something simple like reading a cool article each day and go from there.
5. The Soul Matters:
While we take care of our body, mind, and environment, 2018 is the year that we must begin to take care of our soul. Start by taking some me-time this year, set aside a day of each month where you spend a day with yourself. Get a massage, soak in the tub, take yourself out to lunch – just enjoy your own company. When you are ready, have a look at some meditation techniques or apps to start your soul journey. Try listening to some spiritual leaders like the Dalia Lama, Sadhguru or Deepak Chopra.
